Sunday Service:  Carolyn Martin, "The Good News About Getting Lost!"
9:00 and 11:00 in the Sanctuary
Whether it's on the streets of a strange city, in the confusion of fear or grief, or within moments of bliss, feeling lost is a universal experience. How we confront our "lostness" determines what happens to our lives when we are found. Carolyn Martin uses her own poetry to discuss this human predicament. After hearing her, you may want to chuck your GPS and look forward to the next time you don't know where you are.

Musical interlude by David Salminen.

The offering will be split this Sunday with Multnomah Village Loaves and Fishes.

Don't miss pancake breakfast this Sunday between services, starting around 10:00. Thank you to chefs Vern Nelson, Mary Sherman and Jim Johnson; and helpers from the Womens' Retreat Committee.

For information on upcoming speakers, please go visit the WHUUF website's homepage at www.whuuf.net

The Annual Dinner is Coming in March
The Annual Dinner Committee has two amazing co-chairs this year. Drum roll please . . . they are Chris Oace and Chris Bond. (Applause.) You don't have to be Unitarian to know that means great food and fine organization; it's the kind of team we can all pitch in for willingly and warmly and then settle back and have fun. The night comes with other entertainment as well, the talented and less talented kind (the kind you love to love.) Stay tuned for details. The dinner is Saturday, March 17 and it's at WHUUF.

The Annual Pledge Drive
Have you reviewed the packet of info you received? Can you find yourself on the "Giving Guide" page? Your Steward may have already called you and you may have already filled out your pledge form. If not, your Steward will be calling or will be checking in with you on Sunday, so please schedule a time to meet with them. We  are all volunteers and like positive responses! We hope to finish the drive quickly, so thanks for your cooperation. We hope, with your support we can make a difference. Remember our mission: Guided by UU principles, our loving community of all ages nurtures each other’s spiritual and personal growth and supports our individual and group efforts in the wider world. -- The Pledge Committee

Afternoon Book Group  -- Tuesday, February 21

This month the group is reading With Grit and By Grace: Breaking Trails in Law and Politics, by Betty Roberts; an autobiography written by Oregon’s first woman Supreme Court Justice. Join in Tuesday, February 21 at 1:30 for a discussion and selection of favorite passages. Contact: JoAnne Nordling.

Read More Social Justice
Due to time constraints, the Social Justice Committee report to the Congregational Meeting had to be greatly shortened. We want to share the full report, especially the description of the Standing on the Side of Love Campaign, so we are making the report available on WHUUF.net, and will have copies of it at our Social Justice table in the social room. Please look for it in those places. -- The Social Justice Committee

Caring and Sharing

The CareNet Connection
The CareNet Connection CareNet is one of the ways we minister to one another in the WHUUF Community. Life is like a roller coaster, with ups and downs. If you are going through one of life's challenging times, there is no need to do it alone. CareNet wants to help you through those tough times. CareNet contact information: Joan Sandberg (503-784-4314) or Bob Fankhauser (503-206-9824).

Did you know that Joys and Sorrows are recorded at each service and posted on the WHUUF website? Members and Friends can read the Joys and Sorrows by joining the CareNet Committee Group. In the Navigation window with the Gold Star, click on "Committees." This opens a page of all the committee groups. Find the line for CareNet Committee and click on "Request Membership." CareNet will add you to the CareNet Committee Website Group and you will be able to read Joys and Sorrows, which are archived for every Sunday. Click on www.whuuf.net to get started.

Are You Missing Any Friends?
The Hospitality Committee is responsible for following up on absent Members and Friends to understand the reason for their absence: illness, job change, move, etc. If you haven't seen someone around for a while, please take the initiative to contact those persons and/or contact us so we can do it. Hospitality is more than just a word at WHUUF. It takes all of us! -- Sharon Firsich and the Hospitality Committee.
