May 4: WHUUF Dance Choir
The WHUUF Dance Choir presents a Masked dance of Inanna, Queen of Heaven and Earth.
May 11: Mother's Day
Rev. Bob Schaibly will speak. After carrying you in her body for nine months, feed you and changing endless diapers (sometimes before disposable ones were invented!), among absolutely countless other things, you may not dismiss this as just another Hallmark Holiday.
May 18: Choice Theory
Peter Joyes will present. "I have been reading the book 'Choice Theory' by Dr. William Glasser. I am so pumped up about the ideas in it. The simple theory that our lives and our circumstancess are the result of myriad choices that each of us makes all the time is described in detail in the book. I think a review and discussion of the ideas would make for a great Sunday service. The auther's focus has mostly to do with, getting along with other people, parenting, marriage, friendships, and how the theory of choice applies in family situations. I think it is the kind of subject that everybody can relate to and would encourage much audience participation. I imagine drawing a few illustrations to highlight the main ideas, giving a brief summary presentation with some examples, and then encouraging participating discussion around those ideas."
May 25: Dragons, Lupines, Monsters and More
Allison Gammons, lifelong lover of books, reflects on the many lessons learned from picture books. You are never too old to be read a sory, and tere is usually something more that can be learned. Please bring a favorite book from you childhood to share after the service!
June 1: A Tour through Europe
The WHUUF Choristers will present a full program we call "A Tour through Europe". The singing (and piano playing) starts with an ancient Italian song for church service, "Cantante Domino", and ends with the rousing Bavarian folk song, "Ho-La-Lo". In between are songs from Russia, France, Hungary, Rumania, Scotland, Spain, and Sweden.
